PROGRAM

Kilimanjaro in addition to being a World Heritage Site is part of the Seven Summits group (the highest peaks on each continent).
Overnight stays will be in tented camps for 6 days of pure outdoors.
During the trek along the Machame Route to the summit of Kilimanjaro we will admire:

  • Lava Tower, also known as Shark’s Tooth, a 100 m high wall of volcanic origin
  • the Barranco Wall, considered by many to be the most challenging part of the entire trek

Accompanying us will also be our experienced local guide who will enrich the trek with untold stories.
We will, in addition, have the support of porters to carry our luggage and all field equipment.

DAY

Departure from Arusha

Depending on your flight schedule, transfer to Kilimanjaro airport by private vehicle.
Meals : B/-/-

NB

  • This trek is suitable for hikers in good health and with a spirit of adaptation.
  • The trails you will hike will have different settings and terrain; you will start from an upland forest to moorland and then to a semi-desert and rocky area around Lava Tower. Before the summit they will face the obstacle of the Great Barranco Wall, a passage considered by many to be the most difficult of the entire trek.
  • The itinerary is designed to encourage optimal acclimatization. Average daily positive elevation gain of 900 m and a day with a negative elevation gain of about 700 m just to encourage proper acclimatization.
  • On the day of the ascent to Uhuru you will start at 11:30 p.m. traversing steep scree to Stella Point, here you will encounter snowfields before arriving at the summit; therefore we recommend lightweight gaiters to preserve your shoes from moisture.
  • Generally you will hike 5-7 hours a day with proper breaks for refreshment and those needed for meals.
  • Should some members of the group not be able to make the final ascent, or at any point during the tour need to turn back, there is the possibility of splitting the group into two parts.
