Climb Mont Blanc along Goûter Route from Chamonix in 3-days with our local and certified Mountain Guides: this program brings you back to the roots of mountaineering, as you have 3 days to approach the summit of Mont Blanc, getting gradually the best acclimatization.
By taking 3 days, you can afford the ascent without time pressure, as well as providing good acclimatization. Most importantly, choosing this program, you will reduce the risks of rock falling during the crossing of the “Grand Couloir” passage, the most dangerous part of the itinerary.
The ascent requires good physical training due to the length and toughness of the route, in addition to a sufficient high altitude experience and a good confidence in using crampons on steep iced itineraries.

How to approach the Mont Blanc Goûter Route

Ascent time: 2-3 hours
Meeting point: meeting in Chamonix or Aosta for equipment checking and short briefing.
Mont Blanc ascent along Normal Route begins in Chamonix, from where we move to Les Houches by car. Here, we take the cable car to Bellevue-Téléphérique. The ascent finally starts: we go up to the Tête Rousse Hut (3,167 m) in approximately 2 hours. Dinner and overnight stay at the hut.
Difference in altitude: 1650 m
Ascent/descent time: around 12 hours
In order to take advantage of the sunlight, we leave Tête Rousse Hut around 4.00 am and we go up to the Goûter Hut (3,817m) for a short pause. After that, we face a glacial plateau before arriving at the Dôme du Goûter, at 4,250 meters of altitude. From there, we keep ascending up to the Vallot Hut, where we usually take a short break to drink something and rest. Resuming the climb, at the end of the stunning Bosses Ridge, we finally reach the summit of Mont Blanc, at 4,810 meters of altitude. We’ll return down to the refuge Goûter.

Descent time: 5 hours
Wake up at Goûter refuge: we start early in time to reach the Tête Rousse and have breakfast there, before returning to Les Houches, hiking down on the same itinerary of the first day. The last cable car run from Bellevue to Les Houches is around 5.30pm.
When we arrive at the parking area, we will have time for a good lunch and a beer to celebrate the summit with the Guide.
We suggest to the customers planning to stay overnight in Chamonix, to avoid the risk of losing transport (train or flight) in case of late arrival back after the trip.
