Norway Ski Touring – Lyngen Alps ASCENT DAY BY DAY

Departure from Milan, Turin, Verona, or other airports (depending on participants’ location) with low-cost flights to Tromsø. Car rental and transfer to the hotel.

Elevation gain: 1,031 m
After breakfast, transfer to the first ski tour: Stormheimfjellet (1,181 m). A simple ascent to acclimatize to the surroundings. A relaxing “plaisir” ski descent.
Transfer to accommodations in the northern part of the Lyngen Alps.

Elevation gain: 1,374 m
Ascend the stunning Tafeltinden.
A highly rewarding summit reached by crossing the namesake glacier.

Elevation gain: 918 m
Climb Stetinden with a fantastic sea-view descent. For those eager to ski more, there’s an option to summit Rundfjellet (768 m) as a second peak.

Elevation gain: 1,600 m
Perhaps the most beautiful ski loop on the Lyngen Peninsula. Ascend Storgalten (1,219 m) followed by a spectacular descent on the northwest glacier. The varied and complex route concludes by crossing a wild col in the heart of the Lyngen Alps. After removing skins for the last time, we will enjoy the final thrilling turns on the descent back.

Elevation gain: 794 m
Climb Russelvfjellet, a short but technical ascent. The northernmost ski tour of the trip.

Elevation gain: 1,120 m
Ascend Seinfjellet and transfer to the hotel in Tromsø.

Transfer to Tromsø Airport and return to Italy.

 

Note:
The 5-day program may be adjusted based on snow conditions, weather, and participants’ skill levels. The ski tours do not present significant technical challenges (daily elevation gain of approximately 700-1,600 m), though some short sections near the summits may require crampons, and the use of ski crampons (rampant) will be frequent. Participants should also be adaptable to group living and meal preparation, as we will be staying in large houses with shared spaces.
