The most interesting mountains are to be found along the fjords, their height ranging from 600 to 1200 metres.
Despite their not so considerable height, these mountains are nonetheless superb, if only because you can start skinning up right at sea level. There are endless opportunities for all levels, from easy tours when you savour the landscape, to engaging steep descents, which will make even the most discerning ski tourer or freerider happy.
Accommodation will take place in the characteristic “rorbuer” (oarsman’s hut), typical shelters used by Norwegian fishermen, dotted all round the Lofoten Islands and the Norwegian coast.
