THE PROGRAM:

The Matterhorn Hörnli Ridge climb is the most famous and accessible route to the summit of the Matterhorn, starting from Zermatt on the Swiss side.
This Matterhorn Hörnli Ridge route follows the historic line of the first ascent in 1865, offering an iconic and demanding alpine experience.
Although technically easier than the Lion Ridge, the climb Matterhorn via Hörnli Ridge remains a serious mountaineering challenge that requires focus, endurance, and solid technical preparation.

The ascent winds along exposed rocky terrain, mixed snow sections, and fixed ropes near the summit, providing breathtaking views of the Alps. Despite being the “easiest” route to the top, the Hörnli Ridge is not to be underestimated. Its long approach, high altitude, and hidden dangers demand constant attention and physical strength, both during the climb and descent.

This Matterhorn Hörnli Ridge climb should only be attempted in stable weather and with the route in optimal condition. Climbing with an IFMGA-certified guide ensures maximum safety, precise pacing, and expert management of technical passages. Proper acclimatization, physical preparation, and previous experience on exposed alpine ridges are strongly recommended.

Choose the Matterhorn Hörnli Ridge ascent to live a legendary mountaineering adventure on one of the most iconic peaks in the world, combining history, adrenaline, and the timeless spirit of the Alps.
