This advanced ski mountaineering course is dedicated to those who already practice this sport and want to perfect their technique.

PROGRAM

The outings will give you hands-on experience with the major ascent techniques in different environmental conditions. Mountain huts will host our theoretical lessons, where you will learn how to plan a mountain hike, how to choose the proper equipment, some basics about snow and information about avalanche self-rescue techniques.
The outings will have a drop between 1,000 m and 1,400 m.
Below is an outline programme.

GROUP DEPARTURES

DAY

Drop: 200 m
Ascent time: 1-2 hours
Meeting point: meeting in Rhemes Notre Dame (AO) for equipment check and briefing.

After parking the car. we head towards the welcoming Benevolo Hut (2,285 m) where we will spend 2 nights.
We will find an area near the hut where to practice using the avalanche transceiver. We will also try and search for one or more people buried in the snow.

Ascent time: 1-2 hours

Ascent/descent time: 6-7 hours

We set out from the hut on a long stretch with a gentle slope, up to the Fond Glacier, where the hillside becomes more steep and we must be very careful. We continue until we reach the summit of Punta Galisia (3,346 m). To go back to the Benevolo Hut we can choose a different trail.
At the hut, we plan our next outing, have dinner and stay for the night.

Drop height: 1,060 m
Ascent/descent time: 6-7 hours

RATES

€370 fee per person in open group
The rate includes
  • the assistance of a UIAGM/IFMGA certified Mountain Guide
  • liability insurance
  • booking assistance service (including assistance for refuges and lifts reservation)

The rate does not include
  • research and rescue insurance with UVGAM coverage (recommended): €5 per person for 3 days
  • the hiring of any personal equipment (harness, ice axe and crampons): €20/day per person while supplies last
  • the hiring of any personal equipment (harness, ice axe, crampons and helmet): €30/day per person while supplies last
  • the Mountain Guide’s expenses (transfers, meals and accommodation) to be covered by participants
  • transfers, meals and accommodation
  • accommodation at Benevolo Hut: half board €51 per person; full board €67 per person
  • anything that is not mentioned under "The rate includes"

  • It is crucial that participants follow all instructions provided by the mountain guides before and during the activities, and that they accept any changes made to the programme in order to guarantee their safety.
