THE PROGRAM:

• The goal of the course is to learn how to tackle medium/high level trips (OS) with safety and autonomy.
• Notions of snow science and snow cover study will be introduced, for a correct tracing of the safest ascent and descent itinerary.
• Avalanche self-rescue techniques will be studied in depth with the use of safety device (transceiver, shovel and probe).
• Advanced climbing techniques, coordination of movements and improvement on difficult snow will be refined.
• Simulations of emergency situations may be proposed in order to refresh the correct use the emergency kit (transceiver, shovel and probe).
• Overnight in mountain huts, rural houses or B&B to appreciate hospitality and welcome also through the typical local cuisine!
• Possibility to tailor the course program by introducing other outdoor activities or guided tours.

THE RATE INCLUDES

  • liability insurance
  • 2 days of lessons dedicated to refresh techniques of the ski mountaineering discipline, improving abilities on steep routes
  • dedicated training on ski progression, with a personal plan to reduce time ascent, increasing the altitude gap and the improving the performance under big efforts
  • simulations of emergency situations to understand how to use the safety kit (ARTVA, shovel and probe)
  • 1 overnight stay in a rural house, B&B or refuge with breakfast and dinner
  • 1 overnight stay in a rural house, B&B or refuge with breakfast and dinner for the Mountain Guide

THE RATE DOES NOT INCLUDE

  • research and rescue insurance with UVGAM coverage (recommended): €5 per person for 3 days
  • safety personal equipment (ARTVA, shovel, probe and backpack): 60€ per person
  • the hiring of any personal equipment (harness, ice axe and crampons): 60€ per person
  • transfers from/to the start/end point of the course
  • meals not indicated and drinks, except tea and coffee for breakfasts included (participants and Alpine Guide)
  • visits and optional activities and extra services due to forced reasons (weather, snow report, general conditions, inability to reach the destination due to unforeseen events or similar)
  • anything that is not mentioned under "The rate includes"

2 days Ski mountaineering Course – Advanced ASCENT DAY BY DAY

Meeting with the guide in the chosen location around 8.30 am.
First ski tour-lesson: the day will end around 4.30 pm
Overnight in a farmhouse, B&B or refuge depending on the destination.

Second ski tour-lesson: the destination will be chosen based on the best conditions.
End of the tour around 4.30 pm: snack, beer or hot chocolate before saying goodbye.
