For those looking for more challenge, variants such as the Petit Envers or the Grand Envers offer steeper lines and thrilling descents.

Vallée Blanche Ski from Chamonix ASCENT DAY BY DAY

Meeting point: we will meet at 8:30 a.m. in Chamonix for gear check and briefing to better prepare for the Vallée Blanche descent from the Aiguille du Midi.

Departure from Chamonix by the Aiguille du Midi cable car to 3,842 m altitude.
The long descent to Chamonix (1,042 m) takes in spectacular views and glimpses of the peaks that have made mountaineering history, on more than 22km of ski trail, across the Mer de Glace glacier.
It normally takes 4/5 hours to reach Chamonix, including stops (the most classic on the plateau called “Salle à manger,” where you usually stop for a quick snack).

Note
In January and February, snow conditions are generally excellent on the entire route and it is possible to reach the town of Chamonix on skis.
From early March and throughout April, the snowpack is generally transformed, the weather is more stable, with pleasant temperatures, ideal for downhill skiing.
Depending on snow cover, the return to Chamonix is by ski back to the slopes. Alternatively, you can take the cable car and Montenvers cogwheel train.
Either way, you arrive near the station forecourt for a celebratory beer!

It is also possible to make the departure for the Vallée Blanche from Courmayeur, on the Italian side.
