This route requires a good adaptability because we will spend some of the nights in unattended winter huts and we will need to bring our own food.
How to approach the Tour of Monviso

Difference in altitude: 1,300 m
Descent gain: 380 m
Meeting point: meeting in Crissolo (CN) for the equipment check and briefing. Transfer by car to Pian della Regina (Crissolo).
From Pian della Regina (1,714 m), wide slopes and valleys lead to the Colle di Viso. If you wish, you can go on to the top of the Viso Mozzo (3,019 m) and finally go down to the Alpetto hut (2,268 m).

Descent gain: 1,000 m
From the Alpetto hut, wide slopes overlooked by the Monviso (2,727 m) take us first to the Gallarino Pass (2,727 m) and then to the S. Chiaffredo Pass (2,764 m). From here we can climb up to the Malta Peak (2,995 m) or continue down the Valley of the Giargiatte up to the Grange. Here, we continue until we reach the unguarded Vallanta hut (2,450 m).

We set off towards Colle Losetta before reaching the scenic Losetta Peak (3,054 m). From there we go down to the Refuge du Viso (2,460 m) on French territory where we have dinner and stay the night.

Descent gain: 1.400 m
From Refuge du Viso we climb to Colle Sellière (2,851 m) where we traverse towards the Luisas Pass (3,019 m) and then climb on the classical and scenic Monte Meidassa (3,105 m). From here with a downhill, we reach the Pian della Regina (1,714 m) where we can enjoy a very good typical meal.
