Terms and Conditions
Insurance
Participants undertaking the activities described on this site will be covered by the guide’s own third-party liability insurance. This cover insures participants against any injury or damage that can be attributed to negligence on the part of the guide. We recommend that participants arrange their own additional personal accident cover.
Pricing
Quoted prices refer only to the cost of hiring the guide.
The guide’s additional expenses (which include but are not limited to: food and accommodation in mountain huts, bars, hotels etc.; cable car and ski-lift charges; transport costs when required with participants or transfer of the Guides to the meeting point) must also be covered by the participants, and will be shared equally among them.
For some activities the price includes the costs for the renting of personal equipment provided for the benefit of participants by the organizers (harness, helmet, ice axe, crampons, avalanche beacons, shovel, probe, trek poles, backpack, headlamps, etc.). Contact us for details: the renting fees are variables depending on needing.
The rental equipment is provided by the organization: it is the customers’ responsibility to make good use of it and use it with the necessary care and attention. In case of loss or damage, the organization will request reimbursement of the material, at the official cost of sale from the supplier brand of the same or other similar in case of impossibility due to unavailability or to withhold the corresponding amount from the deposit fee.
For booking of programs with tariffs under €200, full payment must be made upon booking.
For booking of programs with payments over €200, a deposit of 50% of the total cost must be paid upon booking.
Cancellations
If you book your tour/activity more than 30 days in advance, you will have a 48-hour span after booking to cancel and receive a full refund without any deductions.
After that period of time, if you decide to cancel the tour/activity, you will have the possibility to do so in accordance with the following indemnity scheme (refunded or to be paid depending on whether the payment was made and received):
- 100% refunded, if the cancellation is notified in writing by email to info@peakshunter.com up to 60 days before the first day of the tour/activity (minus 3% of the total amount as an administration fee + 5% of the total amount for the booking costs of extra services, as accommodation facilities, ski lift tickets, transfers and similar and the eventual non-reimbursable expenses the Guide paid to organize the tour/activity);
- 75% refunded, if the cancellation is notified in writing by email to info@peakshunter.com between 59 and 30 days before the first day of the tour/activity (minus 3% of the total amount as an administration fee + 5% of the total amount for the booking costs of extra services, as accommodation facilities, ski lift tickets, transfers and similar and the eventual non-reimbursable expenses the Guide paid to organize the tour/activity);
- 50% refunded, if the cancellation is notified in writing by email to info@peakshunter.com between 29 and 21 days before the first day of the tour/activity (minus 3% of the total amount as an administration fee + 5% of the total amount for the booking costs of extra services, as accommodation facilities, ski lift tickets, transfers and similar and the eventual non-reimbursable expenses the Guide paid to organize the tour/activity);
- 0% refunded, if the cancellation is notified in writing by email to info@peakshunter.com less than 21 days before the first day of the tour/activity
Non-refundable fees that will be discounted from the refund include:
- Administration fee: 3% of the total price of the tour/activity.
- Service fee: 5% of the total price of the tour/activity.
- The eventual non-reimbursable expenses the Guide paid to organize the tour/activity (accommodation, administration expenses, salaries, porters, food, etc.), to be defined by the guide at the moment of the client’s request for cancellation.
- Credit Card fee: approximately 4% of the amount paid by credit card.
- Any other fee that had been clearly mentioned to the client as non-refundable before the client booked.
If bad weather or unsuitable conditions force the Guide to decide to cancel the trip, Peakshunter Mountain Guide can offer one of the following options: a) propose a similar activity at a different place where conditions are better, or b) propose to postpone the activity until a later date, or c) cancel. If the customer refuse option a), the cancellation policy will apply. Please note, however, that the call to cancel a trip due to bad weather can only be made by the Guide (not the client). Under exceptional circumstances, the guide could, however, decide at his sole discretion to refund the client (minus the transaction fee).
The 3% customer service fee paid at the moment of the booking is non-refundable. It is advisable to have an insurance policy that covers cancellations.
Take into account, however, that if accommodation, flights or transfers were included in the trip you booked, then a different policy may apply as the guide will be bound by the provider’s cancellation policy.
If the organizers cancel a booked activity, you are entitled to:
- book the same activity at a later date;
- book another activity with the same price;
- book an activity with a lower price, (with a refund of the price difference);
- cancel the booking at no additional cost, with full refund of any paid deposit or payment in full.
Changes to programs or itineraries during the activity
The Guide can, when justifiable, to vary or cancel parts of the scheduled program.
Such decisions are entirely at the discretion of the Guide.
The guide may, in such cases, suggest alternative solutions, indicating any additional costs the participants may incur. Participants are free to accept or reject these suggestions.
In the event that there is difference between the agreed services and those provided, the organizer will refund the customer within the limits of the difference itself.
