PROGRAM
The basic mountaineering course is for beginners and for all those who approach climbing activities for the first time. The course includes teaching, through lectures and practical tests, the basic climbing techniques you need to know to safely tackle ascents with stretches on glaciers, mixed terrain and easy climbing. The course will teach you the principles and will enable you to put them into practice through exercises that will help you to get to know the mountain environment, learn the proper use of equipment (crampons, ice axe, ropes, etc…) and be properly trained on risks and security issues at high altitude.
The course program we suggest can be adapted to the needs and technical capabilities of the participants.
Meeting point: meeting at 8:30 at the Skyway terminus for equipment check and a short briefing.
Depending on the destination, we will take the lifts (cable car to Punta Helbronner) or go by car to the Val Veny, heading to the Monzino Hut.
Cramponnage (beginners): techniques for using crampons and ice axe on snowy and icy ground.
